Superb location, just steps from the Chiang Mai gate. There could be a bit of street noise at night, but by no means intolerable. Our room was clean and comfortable; no frills, but an excellent value. The staff made up the bed and changed the towels daily, which we didn't expect. Laundry service is available in the building; for about $.75 a pound, the laundry goddess will wash, hang dry, and iron all your clothes with loving care. Daily and monthly rates are available.

Quiet, clean, amazing pool on the last floor. I’d add a fan in the room and would replace the white light bulbs for warm ones. But minor details and personal choices. It is a great place to stay. The room with view to doi suteph are beautiful.

I have used Smith Residence for a lot of years, and always been satisfied, but now they have changed their smoking policy, and I can't accept that, so I have find a new hotel, when I am in Chaing Mai.
